Top Ten Old Navy Color Names

Anyone familiar with Old Navy knows their color names can be quirky. There’s the classics (“In The Navy” shows up on 150 products), and then there’s the more creative names. After sniffing out over 2000 separate color names from the breadth of the Old Navy catalogue, here are ten of our favorites.

  • Night Owl – We don’t know HOO came up with this, but it sure gave us a laugh.
  • Ambrosia – An apple? A dessert salad? A mythical food? This wasn’t the first name to make us hungry and it won’t be the last.
  • A Shore Thing – This hoodie also comes in “Wintry Waters,” in case you weren’t fully picturing the beachy scene.
  • A Stone’s Throw – Can’t throw a rock around here without hitting another clever color name.
  • Thyme To Pretend – Gotta love a good pun. Or at least pretend to.
  • Mauve On Down – An even better pun. Keep mauving on down this list.
  • Anemone Pink – Fresh and lively, like a bright bloom swaying underwater. Soft enough to be sweet, vivid enough to feel alive.
  • River Hot – I’m just lost on this one, but it’s apparently not red hot lava, but rather blue jean shorts.
  • Glitter Bug – Kid’s product, kid’s name – can’t blame them for that one.
  • Belgian Waffle – We’re a little hungry now. Time to go get a snack.
